Alexander Döll was appointed Chief Executive Officer of The Methanol Institute in 2025, after serving as Chief Operating Officer since May 2024. Based in MI’s Brussels office, Alexander is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and overall strategy of the Institute. He works closely with MI’s members, Board, and Executive Committee to advance the organization’s mission globally. With extensive experience in the chemicals industry, including senior roles at Dow and OCI Global, Alexander brings deep sector expertise and leadership. He has also served as Vice Chair of MI’s Policy Committee and played a key role in major international initiatives, including COP meetings and the World Economic Forum, demonstrating his commitment to addressing global sustainability challenges.

Lawrence Navin joined the Methanol Institute in June 2013. Lawrence’s background includes having worked for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s US-India Business Council, the US Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), now the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), and in the U.S. Senate. Lawrence’s role with MI includes overseeing the Institute’s government and public affairs activities and directing the Institute’s communications and social media activities.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of Delaware, and a Master of Arts degree in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University.

Managing Director, Europe & IMO

Felicia serves as the Methanol Institute’s Managing Director for Europe and IMO Affairs, leading the Institute’s strategic engagement with European institutions and the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Based in Brussels, she plays an active role in high-level policy and regulatory discussions on low-carbon fuels, sustainable shipping, and the circular economy.
She drives MI’s advocacy and outreach across the region, aligning industry priorities with evolving EU legislation and global maritime policies. Working closely with member companies, she advances methanol’s role in key markets by leveraging her expertise in energy, fuels, mobility, and trade.
Prior to joining the Methanol Institute, Felicia was Head of EU Affairs at OCI Global and held senior roles in the renewables, natural gas, and hydrogen sectors. Her career spans regulatory affairs, stakeholder engagement, and EU policy development, making her a trusted voice for industry in Brussels and beyond.

Global Communications Manager

Aria is the Methanol Institute’s Global Communications Manager, leading MI’s worldwide communications strategy from our Brussels office. She oversees media relations, digital content, and stakeholder engagement, working closely with MI’s regional offices and member companies to strengthen the Institute’s voice in the energy transition.
Before joining MI, Aria was a Communications Officer at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Climate Action in Brussels, where she managed the social media team and led high-profile communication campaigns. She also worked as a journalist at EurActiv, reporting on EU energy and cohesion policies.
Aria holds a Master of Science in Communication Studies with a focus on new media and journalism from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Kjeld works as a Senior Advisor to the Methanol Institute.  Following a distinguished 40-year career with MAN Energy Solutions as a retained consultant, Kjeld works with MI in several critical areas to advance methanol as a clean fuel.

Chief Representative China

Beijing

Mr. Zhao Kai serves at the Methanol Institute (MI)’s China Chief Representative, based in Beijing. In this role, Mr. Zhao is responsible for supporting and advancing the Association’s public policy activities in China, in combination with the Methanol Institute (MI)’s CEO and COO.  He provides strategic development and tactical leadership of MI’s government relations/affairs activities in China, including liaising with MI members, affiliated Chinese trade associations, government officials, and media on areas affecting the methanol industry. Mr. Zhao is also responsible for helping to drive initiatives aimed at fostering safe use and handling of methanol and derivative products in China.  Additionally, he provides support services to existing MI members in China and to recruit new members into the Association.

Delhi

MI is pleased to welcome Ms. Prakriti Sethi as MI’s consultant and representative based in Delhi, India. Her inclusion to the MI team is part of MI’s efforts to bolster its government relations efforts and network in key markets around the world. Prakriti has a wide array of experience working with international and national government institutions such as the UNESCO Secretariat, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and the Government of Delhi.She supported the UNESCO Secretariat as part of the delegation at the UNFCCC’s COP22 and assisted in preparing the UNESCO Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Plan 2016 – 2021. At GIZ, Prakriti was responsible for research, data analysis, planning, and drafting the organization’s Women Entrepreneurship Program which implemented in collaboration with India’s Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).  Her experience also extends to drafting reports and parliamentary intervention analysis for the Government of Delhi.Prakriti will support MI as the organization’s representative in India, a key market that has been identified to have high-growth potential for future methanol consumption. Based in Delhi, Prakriti can effectively identify and engage stakeholders in government and private sector who will be key in furthering India’s aspirations to establish a methanol economy.

Ms. Belinda Pun joined Methanol Institute Singapore as an Executive Manager before becoming the Finance Manager. She is working on the APAC office operations, project, and event management. Belinda has years of experience in Human Resources, Office Administration, and Project Management. She graduated from Kingston University with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Human Resource Management. She is also an SAP HCM-certified consultant.

Toni Zhou serves as Methanol Institute’s Beijing Office Manager. She leads social engagements in China and office management and supports the Chief Representative of China. Before joining MI, Toni has years of wide-ranging experience and in-depth expertise for Ogilvy Beijing, including client services, corporate communications, business operations, and project management.
